I decided to create this video to make awareness that California, like many other regions across the world, is currently going through a serious drought. I understand the original idea of helping out for the ALS research and that people initiated this challenge to make other people aware of how people who suffer from this decease feel like. However, like many things in the internet that go viral, people completely shift the focus and make it into a pointless trend. Many people are jumping in to do the Ice Bucket challenge just for the "heck" of it, they don't even donate any money for the cause, they are just doing it to amuse their friends and relatives. People all over the world are doing this and wasting clean water while there are many countries and regions that lack sources of clean water and truly struggle in order to survive. So I think is fair to say that it would be ideal for people who want to help for the ALS cause to just donate money instead of wasting any more water. Or if they still want to do the challenge in addition to the donation, then use something different. I know sand wasn't exactly the smartest idea, however, I did it to make a point. Anybody can come up with other ideas that are fun and clean.
